Should I Book a Professional Wedding Photographer or Get a Friend to do it for Free? A Cautionary Tale… · Rock n Roll Bride

Reblogging this excellent article, because I couldn’t say it any better myself!  If you don’t have time to read it all, just click the link and scroll down to the pictures, which will explain almost everything.

The short story is, the couple asked one of their friends to photograph their wedding.  He had a nice camera, and was great at photographing cars, but weddings are a completely different situation (as they eventually learned).  Click the link below for the whole story (and pictures):

What’s really sad, is that this unfortunate couple was too embarrassed to show anyone their wedding pictures; and these were the only pictures they had.

Teaser – Bloody Red Queen

Here’s the first edit from our recent Bloody Red Queen (Painting the Roses Red) themed photo shoot.

We did two back-to-back themed shoots on this day, so I still have lots to catch up on.

My girl (Crime of Fashion Hair and Makeup) put lots of hard work into the wardrobe design, as well as hair and makeup.  More info later when I post the final story (which will fully explain the theme).

Couldn’t resist sharing the first edit from our recent Golden Egyptian Queen themed photo shoot.  Yes, that’s gold body paint!

Just like weddings, ‘belly pics’ are not something I do all the time, but when I do, it needs to be a little different.  I couldn’t do this without the hard work of my girl (Crime of Fashion Hair and Makeup), who designed the theme, wardrobe, and did the hair/makeup/body paint.

I’ll go into all the details later when I post the whole story on this fashion-themed-pregnancy shoot.

Teasers

There’s so much to catch up on, and I haven’t posted in a while, so here’s a quick teaser of a story I’ll be posting soon (many more to come).  Just couldn’t wait to share!

We had a blast shooting with Lisa. The rest of the story will be coming soon, or you may even be able to find it (and others) first on Crime of Fashion Hair and Makeup.

Madison Wisconsin Road Trip

2012 Road-Trip Photo Shoot (preview)

Here’s a preview of an upcoming review …if that even makes sense.

There are so many recent shoots I need to post, but I’m constantly struggling with my freaky obsession of posting everything in chronological order.  Which means I need to start catching up ASAP, so here goes:

In December 2012, Jenny (Crime of Fashion Hair and Makeup) and I headed to Madison Wisconsin for our first Road-Trip Photo Shoot.  This was the adventure that started a tradition (possibly even an addiction).

Madison Wisconsin Road Trip

Our plan?  Meet new people and shoot them, the best way we know how.  OK the plan was a little more involved than that…

Our Luggage

San Francisco Road Trip was a huge success!

We absolutely loved our visit to San Francisco!  This was our first visit, and our original plan was to shoot 2 days, and have 3 days for sight-seeing.  But our casting-call generated such an overwhelming response, that we decided to add an extra day of shooting.

2012 in review

It’s hard to start a new website/blog, when there are so many posts to be made about previous work, and so much currently happening.  There’s no possible way to look back, while looking forward at the same time.  Yet, I have a freaky obsession about posting in chronological order, so I have to do something…
